Transmission is the debut single from the amazing Joy Divison. Originally recorded for the more raw and gritty Warsaw self titled album when they used to bill themselves.
When they released this as Joy Division they recorded it as at a faster tempo which definitely helps @peterhook_thelight ‘a amazing driving baseline at the start of the track which is placed perfectly to build tension to the ensuing chaos that comes from the rest of the band.
An airy tube hiss grips the air as the attacking guitars start to stutter in the song with Ian Curtis bringing his morbid vocals along for the ride. As the debut single of the band it did a perfect job at setting the tone of what Joy Division was, and what it was to become.
This is one of my favourite tracks of all time and really man if you’re into anything post punk/ shoegazey then you’re sure to love this
